One of my favorite parts of the wedding process is shooting my couples’ engagement sessions! I always start the session by letting them know that the e-sesh is practice so that by the wedding day, we know exactly how we work together, thus maximizing our portrait time together! Hallie and Kirk are getting married in January of 2019, so scheduling their engagement session a year in advance gave us a chance to get to work together and break up the time before the wedding! They’re getting married at Hidden Pines Chapel in Hurst (formerly Northeast Wedding Chapel) and I’m way too excited about it because it’s actually undergoing a full renovation at the moment, so her wedding will get to take place in a brand new venue!
When we met for their engagement session, I couldn’t stop staring at how unique and beautiful Hallie’s ring is. Later on during the session, I went to take some ring shots and I noticed the engraving on the inside of the ring. Hallie and Kirk shared how the ring was actually his grandmother’s ring, and had been given to her by his grandfather on their 50th wedding anniversary. On the inside of the ring was his grandparents’ initials and the date they were married in 1944. I loved how Hallie’s ring had such a sentimental touch to it, and I think Kirk deserves some major props for knowing it’d be perfect for his fiance!
We started off their session at the Fort Worth Water Gardens in their best formal attire! For the second look, they changed into cozy sweaters as we shot in a local field overlooking downtown Fort Worth. As we neared the end of the session, we chatted a bit about what they’re looking forward to the most out of their wedding day, and it got me so excited!! So so thankful to have great clients like these two, and I can’t wait until we get to shoot together again! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their session!
