Jessica + Joseph | October 7, 2018
I’m so excited to share some of my favorite moments from Jessica and Joseph’s destination wedding at the Lighthouse Inn in Cape Cod!! This was my first ever destination wedding, and I’m so glad it took place in such a gorgeous place like the Cape! I visited Massachusetts earlier this year for a family vacation, and I loved getting to explore the Boston area. This time I got to visit the coastal part of the state, and I’m pretty sure Massachusetts is one of my new favorite places! Jessica and Joseph both grew up in Massachusetts, so it was only fitting they had their big celebration there. Columbus Day weekend was the perfect time for all of their family and friends to come together and celebrate them!
The ceremony took place on the beach under a hand-made wooden altar from the bride’s parents. All of their family and friends contributed to different parts of the day, and I loved seeing all of the details they crafted! The bride’s mom put together the florals from their backyard and other local gardens, they were gorgeous! During the father of the bride’s speech, Jessica’s father spoke on how his wife would tend to the flowers before the wedding, and tell them how one day they would grow into something special, and serve a bigger purpose. How sweet is that?!
My favorite part of the day was hands down the reception! Jessica and Joseph put so much thought into making the reception fun for all of their guests! When it came time for dinner, so many guests chose to dine on the famous Cape Cod lobster dish. IT WAS INSANE! So insane that I included a picture of it in this post…#YoureWelcome. One of the coolest parts of the reception was hearing everyone sing “Sweet Caroline” at the top of their lungs as Jessica and Joseph cut their cake.
My first destination wedding was a blast, and I can’t wait for the next! Congratulations, Jessica and Joseph! Happy one month of marriage! Turns out the best way to lighten the mood during sentimental toasts, is to have a waiter drop an entire tray of plates in the kitchen! Everyone started laughing and clapping haha. And then it got emotional again, and Joseph’s nephew shot a Nerf gun at him at the perfect time, haha. Everyone started laughing all over again naturally!
