Downtown Dallas Engagement Session | Perri + Scott

Perri and I’s friendship goes alllll the way back to our basketball days where we played against each other in high school, and then eventually were teammates on our select team! We both attended UNT for college, and have stayed in touch throughout all these years. Whenever she asked me to shoot her and Scott’s wedding this July, I was SO excited and incredibly honored. She’s getting married at the White Sparrow and it’s seriously one of the most stunning venues I’ve ever seen. Perri was a guest at mine and my husband’s wedding day at the White Sparrow in 2016, and it’s going to be so fun to return this summer, but to shoot HER wedding! How unreal is that?! Whenever we started planning for their downtown Dallas engagement session, we had two details we wanted to highlight. First, she wanted one of their outfits to be “Black Tie” (UM, YES!).  Secondly, she wanted to end the session with a field location at golden hour. Those two details made for the PERFECT combination for their engagement session!

We started out their session at the Winspear Opera House at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Downtown Dallas. This location complimented their black-tie outfits so well. Perri looked amazing in her black and gold gown, and Scott looked so sharp in his suit. No surprise there though since they both have amazing fashion sense! I’m already excited to see what Perri’s dress and Scott’s suit look like on the wedding day! haha.

After finishing up at the Winspear and Klyde Warren, we drove to White Rock Lake, one of my favorite spots! In downtown Dallas it’s pretty hard to get that “field look” since the city is mostly crowded with buildings. Because of that, I knew White Rock would be the best option for us since the location has access to an open field and a dock overlooking the lake. Plus, the sun set perfectly behind the field so it was a win-win! We made it just in time for the last few minutes of golden hour, and I’m so glad we were able to capture both of Perri’s visions for her session!

I’m so thankful to have a friend like Perri, and I can’t wait to see her marry the love of her life in just a few short months!
