Heather and JL’s wedding day at the Ashton Depot was everything classic, romantic, and elegant, overflowing with all-white floral pieces. Heather’s bridal gown had the cutest bow detail on the back, which paired well with JL’s tuxedo and bow tie. Their wedding day spanned across 3 venues, but Heather and JL made the transitions from location to location seamless, with their venues in close proximity to another. Since I grew up in Fort Worth, I love whenever I get to photograph wedding days in the city!

Since Heather and JL had multiple locations for their wedding day, it was key that they had amazing coordinators on their vendor team like L&M Events. With Laura and McKenzie in charge of the logistics of the day, Heather and JL were able to truly enjoy each step of the celebration. L&M events oversaw the transportation of the wedding party from location to location, put the final touches on the showstopping reception at Ashton Depot while guests were witnessing the ceremony, and were fully present to tackle any issue that might come up throughout the day.
Heather and her girls got ready in the penthouse suite at the Omni in Downtown Fort Worth. It was the best location for them to get ready and take in all of the views of Downtown!
Just like it’s important to have a great planning team when there’s a lengthy timeline or multiple locations, it’s also extremely helpful to have a talented second photographer to capture those second angles. Since I’m at the front of the Chapel, I’m usually unable to capture moments like the ones below. My second photographer, Sarah, perfectly captured these two images as the ceremony began. They seem to freeze time and create anticipation for Heather’s walk down the aisle.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
The historic St. Patrick’s Cathedral served as the perfect location for Heather and JL’s ceremony. Their Mass consisted of traditional Catholic ceremonial events, like the lasso and giving flowers to the Virgin Mary.
When couples have a Catholic Mass ceremony, there’s often a lengthy break between the end of the ceremony and the start of the reception. Since we had some time to spare, we ventured to the Kimbell Art Museum for some newlywed portraits of the couple. After this, we headed back to the Omni for one last stop before the reception. With the help of Starr Beauty Co, Heather was able to create a second bridal look for the reception! While the sleek bun paired well with the Chapel and cathedral veil, Heather’s effortless curls created a perfectly relaxed look for the party.
The Ashton Depot | Fort Worth Wedding Venue
When the guests arrived at the Ashton Depot for the reception, they walked into a gorgeous ballroom filled with florals throughout. The Ashton Depot’s architecture and design feature tons of arched walkways, stained glass windows, and intricate ceiling details. To draw the eye upward and create visual interest within the space, tall floral centerpieces were created by Justine’s Flowers, a talented Fort Worth florist. This created a connection between the guest’s tables and the rest of the ballroom.
The live music performed by the Royal Dukes Band kept the dance floor packed all night! When the night was almost over, Heather and JL shared one last dance alone in the ballroom at the Ashton Depot. To complete their night, they made their grand getaway in a classic car, a Chevrolet Bel Air.
