Emily + Derek | November 16, 2018
You might remember Emily and Derek from their lake-side engagement session earlier this year! We had a ton of fun hanging out and shooting together that day, and of course that just continued throughout the wedding day at the Rosemary Barn!
It was my first time shooting at the Rosemary Barn, it had so many cute little photo-op spots like the double doors to the property and the rope swing! One of the coolest things about the venue is that it has this cozy feel to it. It was the perfect fit for Emily, Derek, and their guests!
One of my favorite little moments from the day was Derek’s reaction to Emily walking down the aisle. As Emily walked down the aisle with Derek’s dad, both of them couldn’t stop smiling! Even after doing a first look, they were still just as shocked and happy to see each other like it was the first time all day! The ceremony was filled with lots of laughs and tears, shoutout to both Emily and Derek for having the best personalized vows!!
After the ceremony they flipped the room into a lounge area for the reception–this is a perfect way to make your guests feel right at home. They kicked off the reception with dances and some pretty hilarious toasts! I always love hearing the funny childhood and “how they met” stories, haha. Derek went to A&M, so of course they had to fit in the Aggie War Hymn, too! That’s always one of my favorite college traditions to see at the reception! The night ended with a sparkler exit before the couple headed off to their honeymoon in Ireland, SO COOL!

The #NewlywedsOnTheBloch!! This is always one of my favorite shots because the couple is officially married!
After the ceremony we took a couple “specialty shots” with flash since the sun already set outside! This is one of my faves because it’s so different than the rest of their bride + groom gallery!
