Five Oaks Farm
I honestly don’t even know where to start with this wedding day! Kate and Jackson’s wedding day at Five Oaks Farm was absolutely unreal in every way. When I first met with them at their engagement session, they told me about their families, how they’ve known each other forever, and the story of their relationship. Though they’d known each other since they were babies riding around in Jackson’s bright red Little Tikes car, they never fully ‘clicked’ until much later in life. And despite that, their moms always knew the two would end up together. There’s honestly no better way to explain the story than to hear it from them, so here ya go!
“I can’t remember a time before I had a crush on Jackson. It went from a childhood crush, a middle school crush, on and off long distance in high school, and then to a very serious relationship in college that was unlike either of us had ever experienced before. The craziest part is that even throughout the times in our life that we weren’t dating, we both now admit that we always had each other in the back of our minds, just waiting for the timing to be right, and our love story to fall into place. Our story is unlike anyone else’s, and I wouldn’t trade this life for anything in the world.” -Kate
“Honestly, thinking about how Kate and I ended up together is crazy. We definitely had a lot of ups and downs throughout our relationship. But I can definitely tell you that from the moment I saw her get out of her car at church camp in 4th grade I have been in love with her. I never thought I could be more in love with a girl than I was that day, but now that we are a whole month into our marriage, I know that everyday I will be blown away at how much my love for her continues to grow.” – Jackson
Yeah…they’re seriously THAT SWEET. I’m not even going to try and describe it better than they did haha. Their day had so many sweet moments that probably have happened many times before in the family’s many years of friendship. But on the wedding day, they stood apart from every other time. Kate and Jackson’s mom recounted many stories of their family vacations, and how they kept trying to get Kate and Jackson together over the years (seriously! haha). But this day, it was much different, as the two were finally getting married, something the family has probably prayed for time and time again. And Jackson’s dad officiated the ceremony. As a Pastor, the couple has probably heard him preach countless Sunday services. But this was different, as it was the first time they’d hear him preach over them as husband and wife.
And the final way the day was the same but different? Kate and Jackson rode off in his bright red car. A coincidental nod to the little bright red car they used to drive around in as kids. And yes, the moms had photo proof to show of it! 🙂
Kate and Jackson, your wedding day at Five Oaks Farm stands out in so many ways. I hope that as you look back over this blog post, you’re able to have little moments stand out to you two also! Happy first month of marriage!
And thanks so much for choosing me to document the day. It was great in every way! The sun set perfectly at Five Oaks Farm on this day! Loved these sunset portraits of them!
