Kelly + Jacob | March 8, 2019
I’ve looked forward to Kelly and Jacob’s wedding day at the Milestone in Denton since their engagement session last fall! They had the best chemistry together, and their session was filled with so much laughter! Annnnd their wedding day was no different! From the first look all the way to their grand exit, they couldn’t stop smiling and laughing with one another.
Kelly and Jacob’s Faith is so important to them, so following the first look they had a foot washing ceremony. If you’re not too familiar with what that is, in the Bible Jesus washed the feet of his Disciples as a sign of service and humility. Jacob washed Kelly’s feet, and I love how this served as yet another sign of his devotion to her! I love that they chose to incorporate their Faith in such a unique and personal way on their wedding day!
After the foot washing ceremony, we moved on to their bride and groom portraits. The Milestone in Denton has a ton of portrait locations, from the back lawn, to the dock on the pond, and of course the iconic front of the Mansion! I’m pretty sure I went a little crazy trying to shoot all over the place! haha. At their consult, Kelly mentioned that she chose the Milestone because it reminds her of her home state, New York, so I knew we for sure had to finish our portrait time in front of the Mansion!
Jacob’s dad officiated their ceremony, which added a special little touch to the event! For their unity ceremony, they placed letters they had written to one another in an engraved wooden box. On their first anniversary, they’ll open the box and read the notes! SO SWEET!
After the ceremony we went on to the reception (as usual), BUT, Kelly planned a little twist at the reception’s start. Kelly’s mom never got the chance to do her father-daughter dance, so Kelly wanted to surprise her by making time for her mom and grandfather to finally have their special dance together! UM OKAY NICEST THING EVER!?! So as Kelly and Jacob’s first dance ended, she walked over to her mom and told her the surprise. It was such a sweet moment, and it just further shows how Kelly has such a kind heart!
Kelly and Jacob made their grand exit at the end of the night through a tunnel of sparklers, but that wasn’t the only surprise! There were fireworks going off as well, a surprise Kelly’s parents set up..so fun!
I shared a few highlights below, including some awesome moments I talked about above! I’m so excited for you to see! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their wedding day at the Milestone in Denton!
I love the picture below because you can see the excitement in Jacob’s eyes as he notices the fireworks show surprise going off on the lawn!
